What is that steamed food at the Chinese restaurant called?

I would like to know what that steamed food is called that I ate at a local Chinese restaurant. They were gelatinous objects that looked kind of like a transparent slug and had some sort of sweet filling that I think was banana. Does anyone know what they are called?

It’s "Ha Gow" or prawn dumplings

Ching makes beef seasoned with dried chillies, served on pak choi and baby spinach leaves and dressed with a sweet and tangy dressing.
Ingredients
For the sweet and tangy dressing
1 tbsp light soy sauce
4 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp orange juice
1 tsp groundnut oil
1-2 tsp caster sugar (or to taste)
1-2 tbsp honey (to taste)
½ small cucumber, halved lengthways, de-seeded and finely chopped
1 green chilli, de-seeded, finely chopped
For the beef
1 tbsp groundnut oil
250g/9oz beef fillet, cut into 5mm/¼in strips
1 tsp Shaoxing rice wine or dry sherry
pinch crushed dried chilli flakes
1 tsp light soy sauce
pinch ground white pepper
To serve
1 large handful baby spinach leaves, washed
2 heads pak choi, green stem variety, washed and sliced
1 small mango, peeled, stone removed, flesh finely diced

Method
1. For the sweet and tangy dressing, mix together the light soy sauce, lemon juice, orange juice, groundnut oil, caster sugar and honey in a small bowl. Whisk well to combine, then add the cucumber and chilli. Stir and set aside.
2. For the beef, heat a wok until smoking and add the groundnut oil, then add the beef and stir fry for a few seconds. Add the rice wine or sherry and cook for one minute.
3. Add the crushed dried chilli flakes, light soy sauce and pinch of ground white pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the beef is cooked to your liking.
4. To serve, scatter the spinach and sliced pak choi over a serving plate and spoon the chilli beef into the middle. Drizzle over the sweet and tangy dressing, sprinkle over the finely diced mangoes and serve immediately.

Ching makes ‘siu mai’, open-wrapped steamed pork and prawn dumplings that can be found in dim sum restaurants in Hong Kong and across the world.
Ingredients
For the filling
125g/4oz minced pork
125g/4oz raw tiger prawns, shelled, de-veined and roughly chopped
1 large spring onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp grated fresh root ginger
1 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp Shaoxing rice wine or dry sherry
1 tsp toasted sesame oil
2 tsp cornflour
sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
8-10 goji berries (optional)
For the dumplings
10 ready-made wonton wrappers (available from Asian grocers)
groundnut oil, for greasing
To serve
1 tbsp chilli sauce
2 tbsp light soy sauce

Method
1. For the filling, mix all of the filling ingredients together in a bowl.
2. For the dumplings, place two teaspoons of the filling mixture into the centre of one of the wanton wrappers. Gather up the sides of the wonton wrapper and mould around the filling into a ball shape, leaving the filling in the centre exposed. Repeat with the remaining wrappers, until the filling is used up. Top each with a goji berry, if using.
3. Oil the bottom of a bamboo steamer and line with greaseproof paper. Place the dumplings in the steamer, cover with a lid and place over a pan of boiling water (making sure the water does not touch the base of the steamer). Steam the dumplings for 6-8 minutes, or until cooked through.
4. Combine the chilli and soy sauce in a bowl and serve with the dumplings.

The Chinese have never eaten a dalmation, they used to eat Shar Pei, but now the dogs are too valuable to eat.
